 Victims of Abuse Services

Project Point of Light utilizes several approach methods for victims of abuse. Therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Expressive Therapy, Family Therapy, Individual and Group Therapy are research and evidence based approaches to determine successful outcomes. The program uses a multi-systemic approach at treating the client and the systems in which the client lives. Play therapy can be used with all individuals but is primarily utilized with younger children. Expressive therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy strategies are beneficial for individuals of all ages but typically used with older children & adults. These techniques serve to provide a safe environment in which the individual can explore their feelings about abuse and trauma.
